Join us on December 3, 2025 for our next chapter meeting. We will be meeting from 11:30am - 1:00pm at Murray City Hall, 10 East 4800 South, Murray, UT 84107. Lunch will be provided for in person attendees.
Our speaker will be Brooke Smith who's topic will be Unlocking the Power of AI and HR.
Artificial Intelligence is moving quickly, and Human Resource professionals are being asked to keep pace.
In this fast-moving session, we’ll explore how HR teams can responsibly and effectively integrate AI into their work.
Topics include:
- Policy: Setting office guidance while balancing GRAMA, retention, and transparency.
- Privacy: Protecting sensitive data and understanding disclosure limits.
- Prompts: Writing better questions for accurate, useful results.
- Practical: Live demonstrations showing how AI tools can streamline HR tasks.
Through short, focused demos, you’ll leave with practical insights, specific use-case ideas to bring back to your office, and a clear sense of both the opportunities and boundaries of AI.
Brooke Smith is the City Recorder for Murray City and an early adopter of AI in local government. She has helped create an AI committee and policy for Murray City and has been educating public employees on both the benefits and cautions of using AI. Brooke is often invited to speak to municipal professionals across the U.S. and internationally, including keynote sessions on AI and government. She holds a Master of Interdisciplinary Studies from Southern Utah University, certification as a procurement professional from NIGP, and a Master Municipal Clerk designation from IIMC.
